Michael Mann worked his way through writing for television for such shows as Starsky & Hutch
and Police Woman. In 1979, he directed the Emmy award winning TV movie, The Jericho Mile.

While keeping his hand in television, with such shows as Miami Vice and Crime Story, his most
noted work is in feature films.
